About the project

The Museum Of Found Objects is a project I began back in 2024 but in all honesty an idea that I have considered for many years. Every week I take long walks normally in nature often on the Portuguese coastline always curious and paying attention to my surroundings. On these explorations, I find myself picking up objects that have been lost, discarded or are part of nature, objects usually considered to have no monetary value. Overtime these objects have filled up boxes and as I began to make sense of them I found myself cataloging each piece. This became the start of what is The Museum Of Found Objects. As I revisited items, I found myself drawn to certain pieces more than others and wanted to celebrate them in a new way, contradicting the notion that they were in some way worthless by gold leafing them and creating ornate boxes to house them in. Placing them on crushed velvet with a small description and date as to where and when they were found to in some way empower and bring new life to them whilst also highlighting our notions of value.

The Museum Of Found Objects is an ongoing project.
